New app allows workers to deduct purchases from their paycheck

Technology also brings, instantly, various benefits to company employees

The corporate world increasingly values the diversity of its employee base. As a result, its human resources (HR) policies need to be in tune with the multiple profiles. When it comes to benefits, HR departments thus face a challenge: offering advantages that can meet the needs and desires of each audience.

For example, for some, the motivation lies in having financial aid for studies. For other employees, the priority is health benefits. Some prefer salary advances. Within the same team, there may be those for whom consigned credit better solves the situation. How to balance so many demands within the same management?

Enter information technology solutions to provide this flexibility without HR having to manage a real “Tower of Babel” of benefits. SalaryFits is one of those ventures that aims to automate, for human resources, the entire paycheck deduction process for a wide range of benefits. It serves as a link between suppliers and HRs.

“It’s a platform that connects benefit providers – health plans, dental plans, financial institutions, educational institutions, retail, among many others – to HR managers. This simplifies the routine of these departments. Included among the possibilities are discounts at supermarkets, pharmacies, and other commercial and service establishments. “With all these agents connected to the platforms, we link up with the HR departments of companies, which then offer their employees the possibility to make their purchases with post-payment, deducted from their paycheck, without any additions, fees, or interest,” illustrates Lage.

For the employee, it’s enough to download the SalaryPay app when making a purchase at partner establishments. “The expense is reported to the employee’s employer. The amount will be deducted from the next paycheck, automatically, and through the system management by SalaryFits. Through the app, it’s also possible to calculate the limit that the employee can spend without overcommitting financially. Everything is quick, instant, and secure,” describes the CEO of SalaryFits.

According to Délber Lage, besides the immediate benefit (being able to buy now and pay later), the functionality contributes to the financial health of the employee. This is because a study by SalaryFits found that 84% of people with overdue bills had gone into debt after the need for an urgent purchase, “a situation in which, without an alternative at the time, sometimes requires taking out quick loans that, most of the time, are not the best option with very high interest rates,” highlights Lage.

In this way, observes the executive of SalaryFits, the entire ecosystem benefits. “The employee, who doesn’t need to resort to loans that compromise their financial balance; the employing company, which sees its employee free of financial complications and enhances the employees’ salaries; and the market in general, with its sales stimulated,” illustrates.

Délber Lage also mentions flexibility in educational benefits. SalaryFits has in its portfolio the offer of courses at different levels, from languages to postgraduate studies. Also in these cases, HR departments can flexibilize this set of benefits – so that the employee has the chance to choose the modality that best meets their own and/or their family’s needs. “HR can finally have the best options of products and services for the different profiles of their employees and their families.”
