XMobots demonstrates Nauru 100D drones and Brazilian sensor at Operation Formosa 2026

XMobots Defense demonstrated Brazilian unmanned-system technologies during Operation Formosa 2026, a military exercise attended by Brazil’s Armed Forces, government officials and international delegations. The company conducted a coordinated operation involving two configurations of its Nauru 100D drone and presented the XSIS 222A electro-optical and infrared sensor, which was also developed in Brazil.
The Nauru 100D was deployed in an ISR configuration for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions and in a UCAV configuration intended for armed operations. During the demonstration, one aircraft identified and tracked a target while the other represented the response stage. According to the manufacturer, the platform offers vertical takeoff and landing, supports optical and infrared sensors, and was designed to reduce its visual, acoustic, thermal and radar signatures.
XMobots also displayed the XSIS 222A, a system designed for surveillance, reconnaissance and tactical tracking. It combines optical and infrared capabilities with functions related to target ranging and designation. Presenting the aircraft, sensor, software and technical integration together supports the company’s broader objective of developing a more comprehensive Brazilian supply chain for defense applications.
Participation in the exercise placed XMobots’ systems in a training environment where troops, aircraft, vehicles, weapons and command structures operated simultaneously. This setting can help assess equipment integration, collect feedback from military users and identify requirements for future development. The demonstration, however, does not constitute a procurement contract or confirm that the Brazilian Armed Forces have formally adopted the systems. Other concepts mentioned by the company, including coordinated swarm operations, remain under development and technological evaluation unless an operational deployment is officially confirmed.
