XMobots Defense demonstrated Brazilian unmanned-system technologies during Operation Formosa 2026, an exercise attended by Brazil’s Armed Forces, government officials and international delegations. The main highlight was the coordinated operation of two Nauru 100D configurations: the ISR version, designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and the UCAV version, intended for armed missions. Under the architecture presented, one aircraft identifies and tracks a target while another can be used in the response stage.

According to the manufacturer, the Nauru 100D was developed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance missions and is capable of vertical takeoff and landing. The platform can carry optical and infrared sensors and was designed to reduce its visual, acoustic, thermal and radar signatures. XMobots also presented the XSIS 222A, a Brazilian-developed electro-optical and infrared system for surveillance, reconnaissance and tactical tracking, with target-ranging and designation capabilities.

The company’s participation placed its systems in a training environment involving combined arms, vehicles, aircraft, live-fire activities and unmanned platforms, providing an opportunity to observe their integration with military procedures and command structures. The exercise may help XMobots identify operational requirements and guide the development of locally produced platforms, sensors, software and technical support. The demonstration, however, does not constitute a purchase or definitive adoption by the Brazilian Armed Forces. Other concepts under study, including coordinated drone-swarm operations, remain at the development and technology-prospecting stage, with no confirmed operational deployment.
