Ingresse Expands Business and Arrives in Europe

Ingresse is launching into the European market with its first event in Madrid

Ingresse, the largest ticket sales platform in Latin America and a leader in technology in the entertainment market, has announced its international expansion with the hosting of its first event in Europe in partnership with JOMO Madrid.

The event will take place on March 16th in the Spanish capital and marks the beginning of Ingresse’s journey into new markets. The company is making its mark in Europe, bringing with it its experience in one of the world’s largest show markets: the Brazilian market. Here, these events move about R$80 billion per year.


Brazilian Expertise Abroad

The sector of premium shows and events in Brazil remains hot, and Ingresse has become one of the leaders of the segment. Here in the country and also abroad, ticketing platforms – as they have come to be called – are under scrutiny from regulatory bodies and the public.

Amid this scenario, the fact that Ingresse is growing in the field has attracted attention even outside the country, with the company receiving million-dollar investments in a strategic round. The strategy then turned to acquiring competitors (such as PixelTicket, a reference in Rock, and Ingresso Certo), and improving the user experience, the notorious UX. It makes sense: the profit of companies in the field comes from the fees applied to the cart – and ensuring that the buyer leaves satisfied and without any hassle is the ultimate goal.

Let’s Take the First Plane to… Spain?

But why start the international expansion of the Manaus startup via Spain? The choice was not random. The country is recognized as the epicenter of electronic music in Europe, one of Ingresse’s main niches. But the idea is to go beyond the audiences the company already serves, hence the bet on a versatile country like Spain.

The concert market in Spain is one of the largest in Europe, with an audience of more than 25 million people per year and revenue of more than 2 billion euros. The main cities for concerts are Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, and Malaga. The most popular music genres are pop, rock, electronic, and flamenco, showing this range of possibilities.

In 2019, more than 100,000 concerts were held in Spain. The market is constantly growing, driven by the increase in population, tourism, and per capita income. Not to mention that large-scale events are becoming increasingly common – with Barcelona’s Primavera Sound emerging as the main one.

While the live events sector still feels the impacts of revenue decline and price increases, growth in an adverse scenario makes it clear that there is still a demand – and a large one – for live music.
